JH Gruger is an award-winning hard science fiction author known for The Sentinel Suppressions, a near-future alien-invasion thriller series in which physicists learn to harness the energy within primordial black holes and neurodiverse humans display emerging mental skills. JH Gruger earned engineering degrees from Carnegie Mellon and Southern Methodist Universities. He has decades of experience in computer architecture and design and has directed worldwide engineering teams. Early in his career, he designed and architected military guidance systems, including infrared image-tracking systems for the first stealth fighter aircraft and anti-tank missiles.

JH Gruger retired from a career in computer engineering to write science fiction that draws on his expertise in technology and military systems, as well as life lessons on the challenges faced by neurodiverse children. He travels often to international destinations and between homes in Dallas and Santa Fe, accompanied by his wife and two telepathic Italian Greyhounds.​​
